Special Grocery Cart

We went to pick some grocery items in the newly opened Hypermart in SM Fairview last Sunday. This special grocery cart, a limousine like in length, caught our attention. First time for me to see one grocery cart this long, thus, the picture taking. The supermarket personnel (the one in green shirt) was keeping an eye on the cart, worried maybe that Hubby might push it and bring it somewhere else.

Daughter Treats Dad

The Dad in our house together with the whole family was treated to a buffet lunch in Dad’s/Saisaki in Edsa, Mandaluyong. Hours before noon last Sunday, daughter called up from work telling us that she’ll gonna treat their father for lunch to celebrate his day, the Father’s Day. I’m certain, she pleased him no end because for the first time, he didn’t pull out his wallet from his pocket to foot the bill.

Being in a buffet lunch, we had the chance to enjoy sashimi and tempura again, and other Japanese food plus roasted Angus beef and roasted turkey. Different dishes were available that we enjoyed every food to the max. As if not satisfied yet with the enjoyment, we stopped by Ever Commonwealth and went bowling. Twas a real family fun day on a Father’’s Day!

Family Hong Kong Holiday

Since last year, the family has been planning to go to either Bangkok or Hong Kong. I prefer Bangkok coz I have already been to Hong Kong years ago with a friend. However, my two adult children although they are grown-ups still would want to see Hong Kong because of the ever popular Disneyland and the much visited Ocean Park. For Hubby, any of the two is exciting to see. And where do you think we decided to go to? It’s two against one so it’s …Hong Kong !!

We'd like to avail of the Accor Hotels City Super Sale promotion so we would be booking online to take advantage of savings up to 60%. We should not miss this opportunity since this is only for a very limited time. We plan to fly on the first week of September which would coincide with the birthday of my son. Our booking would be for 4days/3nights so we could have enough time for food tripping. I’ve been craving for authentic Chinese dishes and this is it! For that length of time, there’d be more time for shopping, and enough time to see the marine life in Aquarium of the Ocean Park and meeting Mickey Mouse in his home in Disneyland. It is months to go, yet I can’t help but be excited. Thanks that there is such City Super Sale. Its discount would add more bucks for my shopping budget. Woo hoo!!

A June Wedding That Will Be Missed

Most weddings come in the marry month of June. One of those June brides to be is a daughter of a friend who works as a Nurse in Canada. She will be married next week, June 27. Surprisingly, I was informed by my friend that I would be one of the Principal Sponsors in her daughter's wedding. I was surprised because it was just barely two weeks before the wedding when I received the message. Since the wedding will be held in their province in Laguna, I begged to be excluded from the list of Principal Sponsors. I can’t imagine myself in haste looking for whatever is needed in attending such formal ceremony aside from the unavailability of my supposed driver (Hubby) on the day of the wedding itself. To cut it short, I can’t attend the wedding though I'd love to.

But weddings will be weddings as long as the bride and groom are present. So I started asking for some wedding gift ideas. Shopping in a Mall is quite tedious but I have no choice. I was thinking of buying an affordable stainless steel cookware or a set of wine glasses but daughter suggested a more practical gift such as toaster oven or a coffee maker. It would have been much convenient to shop for all these online but I’m afraid it may not arrive on time for the wedding. So I might as well do the laborious shopping in the mall. For all I know, I might find my long wanted stainless steel steamer for my own kitchen and the replacement for my old Oster Osterizer plus some missing kitchen gadgets. If not, well, shop wiki is always there to rely on.

I'm Back

Yes I am, after almost a week of hibernation. My laptop or the microsoft in my laptop, to be exact, was too stubborn to show up since Monday. I couldn’t access my firefox and everything in my laptop coz it only showed some text saying that my Microsoft is turning off for safety reasons or something to that effect. I would have done the repair myself if I only know how, coz it was taking eons for someone to help me out with my dilemma. Daughter and son tried to help me out but to no avail. So this lappy had to move away from the center stage. And me, I was able to give hand to the many household tasks that has been waiting for long. Until finally yesterday morning, Hubby had the time to bring it to a technician and last night it was back home alive and kicking again. I have learned that the built in hard drive has a small capacity and the added memory then were not compatible. Thus, the crash.

So now, my laptop and I are back in each others arms. I missed her as I did miss all of you. See you soon as I visit you! Good day!

Oyster Cake

This is the Oyster Cake, one of my favorites in Mann Hann Restaurant other than everybody's favorite which is Chami. If you happen to go malling in Mega Mall, Greenhills, or Trinoma you can try this food and I'm sure you'll love it too. Btw, this is not paid blogging. Just wishing that Mann Hann would pay me for this.(Lol)

Luxury Houses

The present economic situation may not be the right time to scout for a new house to buy but we are compelled to do so as we are requested by my Sister-in-law in Australia to go and see one on going infrastructure of housing project in Alabang, Muntinlupa City. They saw this one on the internet and it caught their interest. They want to know the details of the houses on sale and the requirements for out of the country buyers.

So out we drove to Alabang to this on going housing projects they referred to us. We were assisted by an agent and we were lead to inspect different units. We are truly impressed by the architecture and quality of the construction. Every house has an attractive facade with cute mail boxes not far from the walkway. There is one mailbox that caught my attention. It was a statue of a lady holding the mail box. It is really cute. I learned it was custom made. I thought all the mailboxes are made by the contractor, but they're not. Anyway, the houses are huge and the prices are definitely huge as well. We informed S-i-l of our findings and she backed out. I would do the same thing if I am her. I'd rather look for a more affordable one.

The Celebrations

For countless reasons, posting of Hubby’s celebration was overly delayed. But on time or not, I still feel like sharing it to you. Actually this birthday dinner in Emerald Restaurant on Roxas Boulevard was a sponsored one courtesy of M-i-l who was with us and S-i-l, Lynne who's in the USA and was represented by her children. Another celebration was combined with Hubby’s. It was nephew Ryan and wife Pie’s 7th Wedding Anniversary. Incidentally, Hubby is one of this couple's wedding Principal Sponsors. And what do you know?! They brought us to our favorite Music Bar after the dinner. (Their blow-out to us). That time around was for the young couple's special occasion, It was a wonderful and enjoyable evening of food, music and fun. M-i-l couldn't help groovin’ to the danceable music of the band. More so when our niece Lizeth got the chance to play drums with the performing band. She was a stunning lady drummer for that short stint on stage. Overall, the night-out was a real blast. It appeared to be a sort of Hubby’s family reunion. Two birds in one shot as they say. A super fantastic bonding!

Here are some photos to share:

In behalf of the Husband, I am thanking everyone who greeted, sponsored and joined us on this celebration.

The Nurse’s Guide To Good Living

I used to buy different printed magazines especially those that talk about health, food, travel and any one that could impart general knowledge. However, I already skipped that practice and I just opt to go online surfing for all my needed information. Just few days ago, I discovered one valuable website that can be of great help not only to ordinary information seekers like me but particularly to Nurses needing guidance and assistance with regards to their chosen job. This is the Scrubs - the nurse's guide to good liviing. A niece of mine who is now on her final year in her B.S. Nursing was fascinated on this magazine style website since I informed her about it. She gets captivated with it the moment she read the posts on Health, Beauty, Style, Love, Money, and News and Entertainment just like me when I chanced upon it. I have read the “Inspirational Long-Term care RN” story of Tiara Ferguson and it gave an insight on a nurse’s life dealing with Long Term patients on Nursing Homes. It was truly inspirational that could motivate nurses who are losing the drive to give their best to their patients. Also the Article on Beauty, “Wake up Looking Younger” is generally helpful to the entire beauty buffs.

For all the Nurses, would be Nurses and anyone interested to learn on just about anything in life, I strongly recommend this Scrubsmag.com. It’s fabulous and inspirational as well.

A Day at Subic

Few weekends ago, we went to Subic with my family, and some in-laws. It was yet a bright sunny day so we were able to enjoy once more the peaceful surroundings of the Freeport Zone. We had a little shopping, and a lot of eating. Lunch was in Aristocrat Restaurant, snacks at the park, and dinner in Bale Kapampangan in San Fernando, Pampanga.

Here are some shots we took:

The SCTex to Subic

The Resto at the Subic Park

A swing at the picnic site.

Lots of geese roam. These were just few of them.

A good rest after a filling meal.

The facade of Bale Capampangan Resto.

Food line up for buffet dinner.

The interior of the B.C.

Good food matched with good music.

This is a very delayed post. But as the saying goes "Better late is still late." he he..

An Aspiring President of the Philippines

It is not supposed to be campaign season yet, but the presence of Senator Manuel Villar is already being felt around town. We chanced upon him as he was busy handshaking everyone in the Pahiyas Festival of Lucban, Quezon. As he shook my hand, I stopped him for a while and asked for a photo op which he very gamely consented. In a condition that I will vote for him come election time. No, he didn't actually say that. It's only my assumption, Well, why not? But I have yet to see and compare all the Presidentiables and their accomplishments. Who knows, he might make it to his aspired position despite the controversies on the C-5 Road Extension he's been entangled with. Let's wait and see.

Home Security

You come home late at night from a very tiring day. You search for your key but it’s nowhere to be found. You worry so much that somebody might have taken it and break in to invade your privacy or worst yet, rob you of your valuables and do some other scary crimes against you. Are you afraid of such scenarios? Worry no more coz keyless lock is now available.

Be among the satisfied homeowners who have been peacefully secured by utilizing a fingerprint door lock. Yes, biometric fingerprint door lock is the trend now, the home buyers’ frenzy. It is your shield from unwanted criminal elements. Also the solution to children who might be placed in a disadvantageous situation having keys in their possession.

Now, if you plan to avail of a perfect biometric fingerprint door lock, look for Axxis Biometrics. The innovators of keyless lock. They'd be of great assistance to you.

Tall Man from India

I just wanna post this photo I took weeks ago when we went to Lucban, Quezon. We came across this towering man, his height probably is about 8 feet tall. According to his companions, he is the tallest man in India, and was once in Guinness World Record. Can't think of anything to post eh. Just wanna share.
