We didn’t buy fireworks and firecrackers like I used to. Not much food prepared either though I still did some cooking. I omitted my roast beef this time to give way to the kiddos’ and hubby’s much liked lechon kawali and menudo. For me to have something to eat, I made the easiest to prepare fried chicken as well as some macaroni spaghetti and fruit salad. I’m not a pork eater, hence, I let them do the taste test of the pork recipes I cooked. I guess it was good coz I got a thumbs-up for it. Lol! Added on the table was the tasty and crispy lechon (looks like to me, coz I didn’t eat it) handed out by our good neighbour. (Thanks, Ariola Family!) Nice to have such good neighbour like them!
We didn’t spend a single centavo on fireworks but we still enjoyed the spectacle of colourful fireworks and pyrotechnics. Thanks to our neighbours! We had fun watching. What a good way of enjoying New Years' Celebration! ... penny-wise and safety-wise. wink!

A happiest new year and the greatest of luck with your blogging.
Christmases are usually spent with the whole family. Most of the food are store bought since our mother is no longer able to cook as she used to. My daughter wouldn't think of spending it elsewhere as she together with the rest of the children wait for midnight to open their gifts.
New year's eves are spent with just my own family and we usually stay in a hotel to watch the fireworks at midnight, minus the noise and smoke.
Food, most of the time consists of chicken from KFC, pizza from Pizza Hut, plus whatever we can buy near where we are staying and a dessert my wife usually prepares at home: refrigerated cake/peach float.
From my family to yours, may you have a blessed new year.
kakamiss ang lechon...weeeeee...:) now ko lang alam ayaw mo pala sa pork titaBeng...likewise we did not spend a single centavo...well, every year naman eh...nakikipanuod lang kami sa kapitbahay...ehehhe!
@Unikorna: Welcome to my humble site. Always glad to see new visitors come by. Thanks for the well wishes. Wishing you the same!
See you around. Take care!
Your holiday season sked looks the right thing to have! Got time with your original family then a private New Year celebration with just the three of you! Great! We were planning that way too, but we're kinda late in booking. We planned to celebrate New Year in Island Cove sana, kaya lang fully booked na way before Xmas pa. Hopefully next time, God willing!
Hope you are having a wonderful week!
@Dhemz: Yes, I'm a no pork eater since I was diagnosed with BC. I love lechon too, pero tiis na lang. It's a commitment na eh!
Good for you on not spending a single centavo too on fireworks. Enjoy pa din naman even without you buying it di ba?
Stay young and sexy Dhemz! Ingat!
Well, for me those dishes are enough. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year Beng!
Wishing you all the best.

@MharMS: Same to you! May 2012 be a better year than last year and the years to come be better than the the present. Thank you for dropping by! It's very much appreciated! Be well and take care!
Di rin kami naglelechon pag may okasyon, Tita Beng. Maliban pa sa mahal, masama pa sa health natin.
I hope this year will be a lot better and exciting than the last.

See yah!
I agree with you Lainy. Di nga daw healthy ang pork or lechon especially. Pero pag bigay, di maiwasan kumain dito. Lol!
Yes, hopefully 2012 will be a much better year.
Always glad to see you here, Lainy! Thanks much! Ingat!
@Ika Devita: yes! no matter how simple or how few food maybe, what matters is the family's togetherness!
Have a blessed day Ika!
Fireworks? Ano yun? hehe....I like seeing them but not hearing them...much like little E. She hates noise...but she loves hearing herself talk kasi ang dakdak! hehe....
Ours was spent just like any other new year...in bed sleeping or watching TV. EXCITING ha? New Year's day....we went out to spend money...ugh! We had to get some things for the house. Hopefully it's going to be the last 'big spending' we have to do in a long time....which I doubt. Lagot...isang taon kaming gagastos....so what else is new, di ba?
Anyway...may our 2012 be better than 2011 lalo na pagdating sa kalusugan...
Thanks for the visits Ate Beng....hope to 'see' more of you and read more of your blog this year!
Huling
@PinayWAHM: So New Year's Eve was a quiet eve there, huh? Haha.. baka pwede na ipalit ang pagkadaldal ni E sa fireworks. Lol! Katuwa! No dull moment with her!
Gandang buena mano yan ah! Shopping on the first day of the year! That means one whole year of shopping! Exciting!!
I will try to increase my blogging entries this year. I only hope I can get rid of my laziness too! Ouch! :))
Thanks for the many years of tireless visits here Huling! Seems like I've known you all my life though we havent met in person yet. Warm hugs to you!

Naku kung libre sana ang shopping eh di exciting...kaso kagastos. Haha...
