Tagaytay-Batangas Family Road Trip

It's already past 10 p.m. now and we have barely rested from our tiring but exciting whole day road trip to Tagaytay City and Nasugbu, Batangas. We met with my sister and her family at Pancake House in Tagatay and then proceeded to Caleruega in Nasugbu, Batangas. This place is more or less 2 hour drive south of Manila. I've heard of this place many times before as it was the place where the weddings of many local celebrities took place. It is one picturesque site and could be very romantic for lovers. My US Navy nephew, who just arrived from Seattle, Washington last night seems to take advantage of the seemingly honeymoon ambiance with his lovely wife and cute li'l daughter. The place is truly worth exploring for it has many hidden magnificent views. Greens and blooms abound all around as you trek up and down the hilly roads. If feet ache, there are benches to rest on while Kois can be relaxingly viewed swimming on the pond down below. It is not surprising why Caleruega is the wedding dream location of many. The chapel is on top of the hill overlooking the greenery of the mountain side with well manicured lawns and gardens. We hardly noticed that we haven't had lunch yet though it's almost 3pm due to the very enjoyable trek. Niece-in-law suggested Sonya's Garden for lunch but ended up just buying bakes and delicacies. The place is serving too many customers so we decided to look for another comfy restaurant; We found La Trobador which is overlooking the refreshing Taal Lake and Volcano. We feasted on grilled seafoods, bulalo, and other yummy native dishes. Just like in many other native restaurants we've been to, they have singers who serenade the customers while eating. This time though, we requested for music of Lady Gaga and not the usual Filipino songs we used to hear. Surprisingly, these singers in native attire knew every single pop songs we requested... and the best thing was, they really sang well!

This Tagaytay/Batangas road trip left us craving for more trips. Sadly, my nephew and his family can't be with us anymore as they would be leaving for Washington, USA on Friday, July 9th. Anyway, we had a whole day of fun with them. With God's blessing, we'll gonna see them again in two years time. Bon Voyage Noel and Iya!

Another beautiful day is done! Time to retire to bed! See you around soon. Goodnight everyone!

Hi Beng Gee, love your pics here, and that fresh coconut drink sure looks good. Last time I had it was 12 years ago.
Your country sure has its beautiful scenic places to visit or see.....

And Lady Gaga? Hmmmm, guess I'll stick to my oldies, ha ha ha. And Dahil Sayo, of course.

I love the pic of the bridge, well taken. You're a good photographer.
Sana'y maging masaya para sa'yo ang buong linggo, laging magtabbi ng awit sa iyong puso, Lee.

@Uncle Lee - Thanks for the compliment though the photo shooting was actually a hit or miss thing.

I wonder why 12 years of no coconut drink. You mean, it's not available in Toronto?

Ha ha..I came to appreciate the music of Lady Gaga and other pop songs after always hearing it play day after day here at home. But when in the car, it's the oldies music being selected by hubby. Which music I want to listen to sometimes depends on my mood. he he..

Have a wonderful week ahead! Ingat!

Great pics. Tagaytay is the only place na nakita ni M [taal volcano lang actually] when he came over in 2001....bukod sa Maynila at Pampanga. If ever kami eh swertihin na makauwi, we'd probably visit 'Tagey-tagey' - as E would call it -.

@pinoy grps here....ay naku maintriga talaga kahit ata saan. Di ko alam kung out of inggit or out of boredome but it seems to be the norm among these groups. I have good reasons for staying away from di ba? hehehe...

Happy weekend....yay!
