Old and new
Our old ref had to rest. After about 15 years of service in this busy household, it had to step aside and give way to a taller and more roomy one. Though the old ref has shown only minimal symptoms of old age, like the normal wear and tear on the outside body, hubby thought of replacing it with a bigger, brand new one just because he suspects it to be the culprit in our soaring high electric bill. Poor old ref! No defense for "him" came into view although the accusation hasn't been proven. He seems to cry... "why blame me when you got your air conditioner and other appliances working all the time?!" Quite pathetic but everyone in the house love to have the new good looking model. Nonetheless, I'm hoping that he'll find a new interested household that could still enjoy his excellent cooling service and durability. He's now standing by and waiting for buyer to come over and bring him home. Good luck, old ref!
Our new ref is similar to this 10.5 cu. ft..
(Only ours is 15 cu. ft.)

It's good it could store more bottles of beer. Cheers!
The good thing about getting rid of him TitaB is that a new home can enjoy him more.. Thanks for the visit!
@chubskulit - I absolutely agree, Rose! Thanks too, for dropping by!
Sounds as if old ref did a great job for you over the years. We have had to replace both the washer and dryer this summer...sure hope that is it for appliances for awhile.
@ Cheryl - yes, it certainly did and super sturdy up to this time... sounds pretty well to have a new washer and dryer too, huh?!
@Tom - aha! now I know why you chose to replace the ref rather than the TV. tsk tsk..
Hi Beng Gee, ha ha, we do feel it when retiring something that has been in the house years....like parting with an old friend.
We too 3 months ago said goodbye to our Kelvinator, 23 years old, and still on active service, only it was suffering from cancer....rusts at bottom and sides, and opening door like being in a haunted house.
Now new Frigidare....as well new oven, a Whirlpool....
Have fun with the new 'ref'....any opening ceremony? Like opening a Sam Miguel and saying, "Cheers"? Ha ha. Inhat ka palagi, Lee.
hahhaha...agree ako kay sis Rose...ehehehe!
a quick dalaw here te before going to bed....just want to invite you to join my giveaway contest...:)
@Uncle Lee - I can only imagine the spooky sound produced by opening your old ref. ha ha.. but I'm impressed that it reached 23 years and still in active service.
Will send you a bottle of San Mig light and lets toast for your Frigidaire, my GE ref, as well as your new Whirlpool oven. Now I understand why you are active in posting about cakes and bakes. Cos you got a new oven! he he..
See you again and keep smilin'!
@Dhemz - oh wow! is it your blogversary yet? Okay then, I'll see if I can. See you again

Cheers to bigger ref! My ref is big enough but I can't stop myself to check out bigger refs lol:)
@Yonca - I guess you're not alone! Apparently, that's one of the weaknesses of us housewives. Always checking out for bigger and better household appliances than what we already have.
'Always glad to see you here, Yonca!
Have a great day!
miss you tita Beng:)
