Going up to Baguio was an on and off plan weeks earlier. But when hubby informed me about his biking escapade with his biking buddies, we (the big kiddos and I) chose to push through our plan even only for a day. So last Sunday, all of us, together with daughter's friend, left our place at 1am and reached La Union by 4am. Daughter’s friend took over the wheel when hubby stepped down and took his bike off from it's rack at the rear of the car. He was fetched by two biking buddies to meet the 16 others. They biked their way up to Baguio via the zigzag Kennon Road. And we on the other hand, went our own way with daughter’s friend taking over the wheel.

The sun hasn’t completely shone when we got to Burnham Park, our first destination. The place wasn’t active yet. Seemed like all the people in Baguio are all curled up in bed that time taking pleasure of the cold weather. We took a rest in the car for a while before we started roaming around. After being rejuvenated, it was a whole day of strollin’ and roamin’ for us.. Quite tiring but fun! There wasn’t much we did in Baguio but drive around and eat. We met hubby late in the afternoon after he was done with his biking itinerary. He sure was much happier because he was able to achieve his goal of biking his way from La Union to Baguio via Kennon Road. Baguio is no longer as attractive like before.(hmm.. being redundant!) It’s now like Manila for being overly populated. But I guess, I’ll keep coming back for it’s beautiful scenery, colorful flowers and awesome climate!
Have a wonderful day buddies! Keep smiling!

Ooh! Baguio looks like a nice place to go for a short holiday!
I just came back from Manila - my first time trip to Philippines! Went to climb the Taal Volcano and also visited Tagaytay City which some people say is like Baguio.
Wow! Wake up so early to go for this trip? Your hubby must have enjoyed himself biking! : )
@foongpc: You were here??!!! Had I know, I would have guided you around the city. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed climbing Taal Volcano. I haven't been there myself though we frequently visit Tagaytay.
Thanks for visiting the Philippines buddy! And thanks too for your time on this site!
Hi Ate Beng!
I used not to like Baguio much. Guess why? The cold weather. We styaed there for a very short time [few months ata] when I was around 5, maybe bec my father was assigned there? I hated it because of the cold weather. Next time I went back there was for my college retreat...tagal ng pagitan noh? I still didn't enjoy that trip that I decided to go home on my own right after the retreat. KJ talaga ko nun...haha.
Now I'm here in a land where it can get very cold and I just couldn't pack up and go if it gets too cold for me. Hay buhay talaga....
Heniwey...busy nga ako late last week until early this week...now hindi na naman. M is out of town so di na naman ako mapalagay. I worry when he has to fly. Balik din sya tonight but I'm not a happy camper when he has to do that. But it's for work so no choice....
Thanks for dropping by.

Looks like Baguio is a great place to visit.I miss having a vacation. It has been a while.
But you're still blessed considering na walang snow dyan sa Florida.
So out of town pala si M?! Until I got used to it na rin.
Oh relax ka lang ha? Enjoy your day!
Hello Yonca! It's nice to go on vacation once in a while. Like you, it has been quite a while since our last. I wish we could go and have one soon too! We need it, don't we?
Always glad to have you here! Have a great day, dear friend!
Good job for your hubs....biking from la union to baguio!!! I heard that temperature really dropped in baguio.
tumpak tita B. the beauty of Baguio seem to have faded. the last time I was there was in 2002. we did what you did, Baguio in a day. natuwa naman yung turista (who else but my other half), yun nga lang masyado daw crowded.
glad to know that you had a great time kahit sandali lang.
@Alf: Yes, crossing the Kennon Road with his pedals is already an achievement for hubs! All of us are happy for him.
Att least naambunan pa kamu dito ng konting lamig nyo dyan. Ang lagay, kayo lang? Ha. ha ha..
Always happy to see you here Alf! Thanks for your precious time!
Hi J!
Kahit sandali nakapag-relax.
At all times, very much appreciated ang dalaw mo dito J!
Always keep warm and take care!
That's a scary drive with fog and all. Your hubby is so determined to bike his way up Baguio too. I've been planning to take Rob to Baguio for the nth time but it never happened, LOL. I was kinda worried it might not be safe for him there.
Actually, you have a point there Mira! Sometimes, it would really worry you to go to places you’re not sure of. I just hope the officials here could still handle well the not so good situation. Nakaka-alarma na siya eh. Hayyys..
Thanks much Mira for showing up here. Missed you a lot in the blogosphere! Take care always!
Hi Beng Gee, Wow! I love this place. Must be cool, huh?
Talking about cool, its snowing like crazy now as I type this.
I love that Lion's head. Someone sure had good imagination before.
It was a pity old days I never visited your country, for business or pleasure....
And now with your well taken pics I can see what I have missed, but now motivated to maybe one day to visit.
And before I do go, will check out your blog pics first, the best places to see...who better than yours....
Guess your family is an outdoor family too.
Talking about biking, my son shocked me with his recent purchase of a Mountain bike. $3,500! Holy Smoke!
I asked him whether the bike gold plated or what?
He loves mountain biking....he's working in Vancouver, and goes mountain biking weekends with his girlfriend...and his bike can take all that rough terrain he tells me.
You have fun and ingat ka palagi. Lee.
Hello Lee! Yes it is a cool place! To think that despite not having snow here, the coldness gets quite unbearable sometimes. What more in places with snow like yours? You truly amaze me guys, for being so tough in freezing weather!
Never mind if you haven’t been here in the Philippines yet, there is still a lot of time for you to visit and see the 7100 beautiful islands we have here. You sure were too engrossed with the many fabulous places and attractive SYT’s around you before that you didn’t have time to take a glance at this country.
Gosh! I surmise, your son’s bike is one of those that many bikers covet. The biker here, (husband) is very passionate with his bike but I don’t think it has reached to that amount. No not yet at the moment but I wouldn’t be surprised if one day, I’d see another new upgraded mountain bike around. The current one is his third.
Always pleased to have you drop by Lee! Keep warm always and take care!
Wow miss ko na ang Baguio TitaB, once pa lang ako nakapunta dyan but the memories is full of fun!
that was really a quiet zone...
@deejay: looks like it is but not quite. Lol!
Thanks for dropping by deejay! Hope to see you around again.
I lived in Baguio for 3 years as I attended my first 2 1/2 years of university in UP Baguio. I missed the place very much like how I missed reading the blog posts of my blog friends, I just came from a two week holiday in Gold Coast and never did dare to go online. Now I am back to read those wonderful posts again.
Raymund
@Raymund: Welcome back to blogosphere! Didn't notice you've been out of blogland coz your blog is always updated. Hope you had a great time in Gold Coast! Btw, hindi ba doon yung nag-flood before? Anyway, how's Australia? Glad you're back now and got time to visit again! Thanks a lot!
