I.ph is Shutting Down

I used to whine about minor technical hitches I encounter with i.ph. But I understand it now.  I.ph is the free web hosting site of the first blog I created, or rather, Tom, my hubby had created for me almost 5 years ago.  I gave that first blog the title “My Quiet Zone” for the reason that it’s like a peaceful Shangri la to me after performing the demanding and chaotic household routine of a stay at home wife and mom.  My Quiet Zone, with url - http://ailecgee.i.ph  is also the blog that amazingly reaped loads of paid opps on its heydey. (Naks!)   But really, I am very surprised by the figures My Quiet Zone has produced.. For that, I must acknowledge that I.ph was greatly a noble part of it.   With its hiccups and all, I won’t deny I owe much to i.ph.  It was like my kindergarten school in the techy world.

However, as the saying goes, “Nothing is permanent in this world”,  I.ph is shutting down due to difficulties of the time.  And  “My Quiet Zone” as well as all the other blogs it hosts will eternally disappear if not saved.   I was informed I can transfer my blog to Wordpress and i.ph support  will assist me with it. I appreciate the offer, however I’m having tough time figuring out the procedure.  I hope to save each and every detail of at least all the posts I have in the i.ph site so  that it would be like having the original blog with me, only in a new home. Hence, I am now trying to relocate all my posts from i,ph to Blogspot .  It’s currently under construction and by the looks of it, seems like it would take me much longer time before it can be finally published.

To i.ph, my heartfelt gratitude for the good times and the benefits My Quiet Zone has had with you.  Hat's off and  God bless to all the people behind it!

I mess up my blog

I think I made the biggest blunder in my blogging activity.  With little knowledge on the consequences of shifting from blogspot to own domain, I have no idea where I went wrong that advertising offers become totally extinct.  The decision to shift was prompted by the hope that it would increase the paid opp tasks I am getting.  But what did I get instead? Zilch ad offers!  Even the adsense on my  home page are all gone! Omg!!  I have a feeling the Url Feeds and SEO’s have something to do with it. Not sure though. I can’t even trace my google feed.  Ouch!  Well, I know I can find it in the net. I just need to be patient.   I have mentioned over and over that I am not a techy person.  Hence, it’s taking much of my time to find where actually  the error lies.  If only I knew that this would be the result, I should have not even dare think of the dot com thingy!

In the meantime, you gotta bear with me and my laziness.  When will this blog come back to its old active life?   I hope and I pray ....   it'll be soon!

Page Rank Zero

Alas, my Page Rank is gone!  For some time, this blog was enjoying a PR3, although it has also seen better days with a PR4 for fairly long period.  While I have been forewarned by a blogger friend (hi, Huling!) about the bad news that my PR will go back to zero as a result of my switching to a custom domain blog, I was still surprised in a way when I saw my PR Checker widget showing a PR 0/10 the following morning.  I was upset because I didn’t imagine that it will transpire as rapidly as it had.  I suppose as soon as blogger friend left her comment,   the disappearance of my PR3 commenced.  Mr Google plays killjoy once again, a kind of bummer!   But kudos to my blogger friend, PinayWAHM for being a psychic! Lol!  Just didn't know she has sixth sense! Wink!

Blog Transformation

It wasn’t clear what comes to my mind when I decided to transform this blogspot.com blog into a custom domain blog.  I had long wanted a dot com site alright but I intend to get it for my other blog and not for this one. Maybe the intense desire to have a custom domain for my blog is the reason why I quickly followed the seemingly simple instructional details on how to change my present URL  into a dot com address.  After going through the process, I think I did well coz it’s now brandishing a brand new dot com address.   Hooray!  I was able to do it on my own!! Good job! (Patting my own back now. haha!)

On the contrary,  I doubt  if I really did the right thing.  I mean.. on turning this into a dot.com  blog . Because right after the URL changed,   the Google Friend Connect links disappeared luckily though, it showed up again after a while.  Then the blogroll links is nowhere to be found.  I’m just hoping it will come back too like the Google Friend Connect links. It's been days but looks like it has no plan of coming back. I'm now wondering how I would start gathering those long list of blogger buddies links again! Mind helping me?

I guess the problem lies with java scripts of "some" URL addresses I find. No idea what it is actually (blush!).  I just find it showing up at the bottom of the pop-up page when I add blog URLs.  sigh!.. Where's The Pink Blog?

A couple of years back, I arduously put up another blog.  It set sights on sharing updates on breast cancer and overall health in general.  It was fed a few number of posts, but due to some reasons,  it never was given much attention until ultimately, I decided to permanently delete the said blog.  Hmmn...  well, I just come to remember about it because we are now in the month of October and it was this Breast Cancer Awareness Month that gave me the idea to create that health blog. But “The Pink Blog”  now is deleted!  So carelessly and unthinkingly!  Ugh!  Then, regrets!

I, myself is unsure what was running in my head that time which pushes me to click the delete button.  I should have just left it all by itself, even if dormant.   But it’s over and done!  I wish I could find time to create a new and better one with sustainable entries.   I really want to have my own domain.  Creating my blog in my own domain is kinda techy task for me.  I certainly need some assistance on this. But who knows?  I may know how to execute it on my own. Let’s wait and see!

Still Searching for the Right Web Hosting

Only few weeks ago, I have posted about my disappointment over the present website host of my other blog.   I really want to transfer it to another web hosting site; however, I’m not techy enough to carry it out on my own.  Likewise, I need to know more about web hosting stuff, how and where to find a good one.  Nonetheless, I’m aware that it’s laborious to search and make comparisons. Hosting reviews help me out on this somehow.

So, what exactly is website hosting?  And this is what I got from the net: Web hosting is a service which apportions space for clients to showcase their websites on computer servers that are connected to the Internet 24/7.  There are many types of website hosting; each caters to the different needs of customers.   Prices for web hosting vary from free to hundreds of dollars a year but based on my experience, free web hosting has too many drawbacks so I would rather spend few bucks and be trouble free.  This is mainly the reason why I am looking for the right website hosting for my blog. 

WHY?

My mind is blank.  In as much as I want to jot down all the thoughts that run in my head, just can’t.  All I can clearly put in writing is the big question WHY!.  Why? ..I ask cos I could not find the answer..  just that!  Pardon me for this quizzical nonsense but I think I just need to find a hole to vent a little.  I’m glad I have this blog.  It’s like a confidante.  although not the good one that would keep secrets. Ha ha.. Well, it's not my concern!  As long as I can unload, it'll be fine.  This is my blog after all!

i.ph sucks

I started my first blog almost 4 years ago in another free website host named "i.ph". After creating a blog site for me, hubby taught me the how to’s of blogging and  then eventually, paid blogging. It was fun learning things at the same time earning.  It was “a season of plenty” then,  I was getting quite a lot of ad offers, one after another until  some advertisers revised their paid ops scheme and just about the same time, my blog site turned difficult to manage.  The used to be plenty now appear in trickles.

Well, I have to admit that I still am in the process of discovering the pros and cons of this blogging world.  And since I was left here now on my own, I am grasping for every good opportunity that could explain on how  or what to do with the  bummer website host of my other blog.   Yes, it sucks.  It really sucks!    It loads so verrrrry slow that oftentimes  it brings  you to error 404 pages.  I guess that’s what happened when the latest advertiser checked the paid article it has already approved days ago.  It has expressed disappointment  as it continually fails to load my blog.  And what do you think happened next? The advertiser then placed the approved post on probation within 30 days.  Hmmp.. WTH is happening to .i.ph?!   It even placed a huge annoying  pop-up ads  which prompted the Entrecard management to delete my blog from its registry.  Grrrr!...  I could have utter invictives  for too much irritation!  I’m now contemplating on  getting my own domain.   But honestly though,  I have no idea on how to get one.  Or better still, a good one that’s not heavy on my pocket.    

Moving  my i.ph blog in a new domain is the best thing to do I guess.  

Mind sending some good tips on how and where to acquire my own domain?  Geez, dying to have one asap!
 

Blame the On-going House Remodelling

Hey, how are you my blogger buddies and all those who are taking time to drop by! Sorry that I have to leave this blog unattended for a long time. Since my laptop crashed, I just set it aside and abandoned it. Oh, btw, hubby was able to fix the said laptop but only for a very short while. After a little blog hopping, it was back to its old bad condition (sigh!). I couldn't care less cos I got other things that need attention too. Though it has been fixed by daughter's friend since last Tuesday, (it's been re-programmed. many thanks, Jonathan!) still, I couldn't find time to go online. Oh my! I'm busy, busy, busy! 'Just found out that there were some ops that expired. Meaning, some moolah had slipped off my hand. I could only blame the on-going house remodelling. It's almost done anyway. The ceiling and the kitchen counter make-over took the longest time of work. Maybe only a week more to go and the re-painting is over. Then the general cleaning. I can hardly wait to see the new look of our house sans the chaos. Then perhaps, I can normally attend to my blogs once again! For now, I hope you will bear with me cos I'm not sure if I can visit your sites. Nevertheless. I'll try my very best to drop by. So, see you there!

Hubby has a new blog

After creating and maintaining a number of blogs, hubby got tired of them all after Mr Google rub out some of their PR ratings. Some good paid opps unsurprisingly disappeared and if ever there are few that pop up you can be sure it’s very limited and low priced. He’s taking another chance for a good PR rating so he created once again another blog site. You can drop by and leave some traces of your visit at his brand new site if you will click here And maybe, you may want to favor him with a link to your site. You gotta inform him so he can reciprocate the kindness.

Finally Done

I started to create this blog since the second month of this year. But because I was yet a newbie in blogging, I can’t figure out how to construct it properly, neither can I find the right name nor the right description for it. I have long wanted to delete what I have started but didn’t even know how to do it. So it was left hanging unattended, promising to get back on it when already familiar with the stuff. For sure, many of you have once or twice stumbled upon this deserted work in progress. I admit that I was uncomfortable leaving it open and undone which evidently showed my un-techie-ness. But I had no choice, until I saw the light today. Apparently, this isn't as good as other blogs but will try to improve. Remember, the owner is a former computer ignorant (sounds better for me than illiterate. Lol!) This is one amongst the many blogging challenges for me. But I know, I can cross over and go beyond. Way beyond my quiet zone!(Lol! just to insert the line)

By the way, this blog would show posts on travels, (not necessarily mine) places, (wherever my two itchy feet would bring me) and events (activities, gimmicks, happenings. celebrations). Please do come along with me as I go on trips, for places to see and events to celebrate. Cheers!
