Soothing Subic

As mentioned in my previous post, our weekend destination was Subic, (…again!) This time around though, we spent the day in one of the unimposing fine beaches inside the Freeport Zone named All Hands Beach Resort. It’s my second time to visit the said resort since 2001 and I saw some beautiful additional renovations around. Glad to find that the clear blue waters haven’t been muddled together with its almost white fine sand. The waters is as sparkling clear as it was many years ago. We enjoyed our dip in the lukewarm water which is devoid of sharp corals that usually hurt swimmers. The surroundings is thoroughly maintained and being watched over by many staff. I would have loved the place if only for it's steep entrance fee of P150.00 for adults and P75.00 for kids, aside from the Nipa Hut charge of P1,500.00. How wrong to think that we will find low cost resort fees because it’s lean season. Not on this beach resort! Anyway, it was a wonderful day and we had fun. It was all that matters!

Going Back to Subic

I ought to sleep early tonight coz tomorrow we’ll be on the road to Subic before the sun rises. Yup, we’ll take a break from the hustle and bustle of life. It’s been a while since our last trip to Subic where we didn’t have enough time to at least wade by the beach.. This time around we plan to hit it off to one of the beautiful beaches that can be found inside the Freeport Zone. Been so busy the whole day to make some food preparations for tomorrow. I don’t think it would be a problem anyway. We could buy food anywhere along the way or even inside Duty Free shops. My eyes are drooping now. Got to go!

Hubby has a new blog

After creating and maintaining a number of blogs, hubby got tired of them all after Mr Google rub out some of their PR ratings. Some good paid opps unsurprisingly disappeared and if ever there are few that pop up you can be sure it’s very limited and low priced. He’s taking another chance for a good PR rating so he created once again another blog site. You can drop by and leave some traces of your visit at his brand new site if you will click here And maybe, you may want to favor him with a link to your site. You gotta inform him so he can reciprocate the kindness.

Some Thoughts to Ponder

Two cups of coffee or tea a day cuts smokers’ stroke risk I received this email and I thought of sharing it with you. It is somehow enlightening and is something you could reflect on. For those who already have this in their inbox, I hope you'll read and ponder once again.

When things in your lives seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 cups of coffee. A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was. The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agree it was. The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with an unanimous "yes.” The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

"Now," said the professor as the laughter subsided, "I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things- -your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favorite passions---and if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car.

The sand is everything else---the small stuff. "If you put the sand into the jar
first," he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room for the things that are important to you.

"Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your spouse out to dinner. Play another 18 There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first---the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."
One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked.

It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room
for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend."

Busy or Lazy

Wanna know what I’m doin’ lately? Besides being too busy with my daily routine, I’m always out of the house attending to lots of errands. And one reason why I seldom blog is lack of oomph to write. I just don’t have the drive to put pen to paper. My head is blank. Nothing comes out of it. Perhaps, physical exhaustion is the perpetrator. I only want to stay in bed and watch TV after my chores are done.

For now, I'll just fill in the gaping spaces here and post some of the photos I took when I went to Divisoria one day last week. For those who have no idea what Divisoria is, it is Manila's Bargain district. You can find anything and everything you need here at the lowest price possible if you know how to haggle. S-i-l in Australia requested me to look for some give-aways needed for the surprise party she’s giving her elder daughter come September. She didn’t say exactly what she wants so it’s kinda difficult for me to look for something I utterly have no idea. What I did was to take pictures of all the items I saw,( after asking permission and after convincing those salespersons I dealt with that I’ll be back to order not less than 60 pieces). And here are some of the many items I considered. Actually, they are not the best yet but I don’t have any other choice. There are many items but only few good choices. I already sent the photos to S-i-l. I haven’t heard from her yet and am still waiting for words from her for my next action. For now, I hardly ever move. I’m lazy, suuuuppperr lazy!!!

What do you think of the above items for give-aways?
If you will be the guest recipients, are they worth keeping
or will they be an added clutterin the house?
I'd love to hear your views.

ICS' "I Can Eat" Get-Together

The intermittent rain pour last Saturday morning didn’t pose a threat to the I Can Serve Breast Cancer Survivors to meet-up and lunch together at Bibeth Orteza’s place in Forbes Park, Makati City. With what seems like a blessing from heaven, the gloomy rainy day turned out to be a bright and sunny one which allowed each one to enjoy the simple elegance of the potluck party’s venue at the poolside lawn. There were more than enough delicious foods and delicacies. If you’d take a look at all of the ladies in that jovial gathering, you will never say that the common denominator that binds the group together is the big C, specifically Breast CA. Everyone is so vibrant and full of life. No trace of that life threatening disease. I supposed, that’s one of the good things big C has done to us. Meeting these beautiful ladies from all walks of life, from the admired celebrities, surgeon, dentist, journalists, artist, to ordinary housewife like me. The presence and support for each one have somehow created a valuable lifeline. There were endless exchanges of notes and experiences which excite me all the more to think about the next get-together. This captioned "I Can Eat" Party was indeed a super blast! Everybody, I must say, went home highly spirited looking forward to another exhilarating experience such as this.

Here are some photos taken

President Corazon Aquino Passed Away at Age 76

Former President Corazon C. Aquino died at 3:18 am today due to cardiac and respiratory arrest. She was diagnosed with Colon cancer last March 2008 and has been battling with the said illness since. She was one good President of the Philippines, if I may say so. The Filipino people are mourning on her demise. May her soul rest in peace!
