High in Boracay

Hello! I’m back to resume my Boracay post as promised though a little late than expected.  Nevertheless, I still feel the high of Boracay even after many days had passed by.

As mentioned in the previous post, we only dropped our luggage at the hotel then went walking around.  I was initially disappointed but the discontent turned to awe as the quiet morning turns to an active day.  .  I saw lots of Americans or could they be Europeans? (I’m not good in distinguishing one from the other though), Koreans, Japanese, Chinese and other nationals flood the streets. You would have thought that you are in other Asian country if not for the local tourists and entrepreneurs.

Drained by the long walk from Station 2 to 1, we took a rest at Jonas’.  It’s a popular eating place there (according to daughter). Not surprising coz they serve good fresh fruit shakes and other snacks. We ordered four different flavors, burgers and fires.  For our first lunch we had grilled chicken, grilled pork, grilled fish, eggplant salad et al.  .. and it was in  ... none other than  .. Tada! ..Mang Inasal!!  Lol!

We went back to the hotel came check-in time and had a power nap for a while.  Everybody were down considering that we almost didn’t sleep the past night due to the early flight.  ‘Twas already late in the afternoon when we came out of our dug out.  The heavenly beach is now packed with tourists of various nationalities clad in sexy bikinis and daring swim suits.

Sunset is gorgeous in Boracay!  Evenings are even more exciting.  I supposed it’s the best time in Boracay as  everybody’s everywhere, .. on the beach, and in  in every nook and crannies of the island.  Various dining places are set out on the beach.  We had our buffet dinner on one by our hotel.  Php279/pax isn’t bad for a number of very filling good food plus juice drinks.

I know I have acrophobia, but I realized I could combat the fear for the sake of fun.  Hence, I went with the kiddos when they went parasailing on early Friday morning.  (who said I’m an oldie for such kind of adventure? Haha.. wait till you see this “young once” mom in another fun ride).  It was truly an extremely high experience for me. No regrets for the Php350/pax we paid for.  A bit of advice for those who want to try adventures offered in the island. Don’t bite the price at once.  You can always haggle for the best price.

In the afternoon, the kiddos set out for another adventure and I joined in again (but of course!).  This time, we went to Ocean View Tower, the best place to view the whole scenery of Boracay,  in an ATV or the All-Terrain-Vehicle.   We could choose from an ATV or a Buggy which can accommodate 2 persons but chose to get an ATV for each. Obviously, no one wanted to just be a passenger.  Where’s the fun in it anyway?!

The DH as usual, chose to stay behind and continued to work with paper works and his laptop he brought along with him. Then sneaked out for some bottles of beer all on his own while we were away.  Oh yeah!  Fun is spelled B-E-E-R sometimes.  Or should I say, oftentimes, for him. Well ... well!

As has been said, evenings are more exciting in Boracay!   With the glittering colorful lights, fireworks in the sky, lively music by countless performers everywhere , everyone appears to be ecstatic.  Without doubt, Boracay is genuinely a party place.

These are only few of the  fun moments we had in Boracay.  More to share on my next post.

Glad that you find time reading this post.  Whether it's your first time here or you are a constant visitor, thank you so much for your time!  I hope to see you again.

Take care and God bless!

Boracay Getaway for Our 32nd

I thought I would just forever be dreaming to experience the most trendy beach island in the Philippines.   But not anymore!  Last Wednesday, November 21, the family along with daughter’s friend flew to Boracay with plane tickets courtesy of daughter Janina as her gift to us for our 32nd wedding anniversary which was on the following day.    I’m thankful coz it’s a big cost cut down for that 4d/3n vacation.  It being an early morning flight, we had to leave our place by 3am and left the car at the overnight carpark of the NAIA Terminal 3.  Thinking we still have enough time after we checked-in for our 6am flight, we took our breakfast at one of the eateries inside the airport oblivious of the fact that we were already being called as the last passengers to board.  What a shame!  Nonetheless,  I felt special that moment coz we had a van all to ourselves given that the shuttle bus that transports all the boarding passengers had  left us behind. (Blush!)

By 7am,   we were at Caticlan Airport. As visitors in Boracay, we had to register at the Visitors' Counter. We took two tricycles to bring us to the Caticlan Port then boarded a pump boat to ferry us to Boracay Island.   'Twas like a never ending chain of rides coz right after disembarking, we had yet to take a multicab going to our hotel.  Hah!..  This time, I was already a little bit tired but pretty excited.

We checked-in at La Carmela de Boracay (which was booked in advance with the help of my friend, Susan to avail adequate discounts) located in beachfront, Station 2.  Like our previous out of town trips where we arrived too early to check-in,  we simply left our luggage at the hotel then walked around  and came back only on check-in time.

As we explored part of Boracay, I won’t deny that I was a bit disappointed initially.  The place I thought, was no different from the other beach resorts I’ve been to. .. plain and ordinary. But not until I got into the water and discover how truly perfect the beach is.  The powdery white sand is marvelous!  Nothing  like it I had ever seen before. Definitely incomparable! There are no rocks nor sea grasses. The sea bed is flat and smooth unlike other beaches where there are unexpected deep parts. Water is crystal clear. Fish are teeming and very sociable.  Though some bite a little, I presume it's merely a friendly gesture. Lol!

Well, I guess I have to cut short from here.  We had a lot of exciting Boracay adventures which is too lengthy to post in one sitting, You can expect more posts with regards to this Boracay Getaway of ours soon.  So hope to see you here again!

Thank you for dropping by.  Have a blessed day everyone!

Davao here we come!

As a way of celebrating our wedding anniversary, which is to happen a week from now, I had proposed to hubby that we go out of town again, just like the past years.  As soon as he consented to my out of town proposal, I delegated to daughter the planning and bookings.  I originally wanted to go to Palawan but daughter wasn’t amenable coz she already has booked Palawan with her friends for January.  So we leave all the planning to her.   She brought up Davao to us and we agreed.  Thus booking is done in a breeze!  So far she’s still working on our itinerary, looking for the good places to see.  We don’t want to regret not having seen one good place in Davao. So if ever any of you guys have been there or are from Davao yourself, kindly drop me a few lines about the best places we should not miss in Davao! Can’t wait for Saturday to come! Ciao!

Visiting Back Cebu

The last two days of our 4day Anniversary Celebration/Vacation was spent in the most popular island in Visayas, Cebu.  Like Bohol, it was also our second time to visit this island. We are glad we settled to book for this province again 'cause there are lots of beautiful spots we haven’t yet seen apart from the newest exciting attraction that the island offers, the Sky Experience Adventure that I have enjoyed and blogged earlier.
After our Ocean Jet ride of about an hour from the port of Tagbilaran, we disembarked in the Port of Cebu.  We realized that in this area, taxi drivers are equally hassles as the barkers who were forcing  us to pay a contract price of 4 to 5X of the normal fare instead of using the taxi meter.  Too annoyed by the swarm of smelly boys around us all asking for tips, we stood on not giving in to their harassment.
The hotel that we booked in was only few blocks away from the port and only few steps away from  the mid-city’s commercial center.  It is a relatively clean and well maintained place with hot shower, phone, wifi, gym, and cafeteria. Hubby even took advantage of the stationary bike for long hours.
We hired a van thru the assistance of the hotel’s receptionist.  How glad we were to see a very brand new Toyota Grandia fetching us. We were toured around the island the whole day then alighted in Crown Regency Hotel Towers for the Sky adventure.  Stayed there till late in the evening even long after we’ve enjoyed the Sky Adventure and the sumptuous buffet dinner at the Sparkz Restobar at the 37th floor. Just couldn’t get over admiring the city’s scenic lights from the tower’s top view deck.  Great sight of Cebu indeed!
The last remaining day was spent on some last minute sightseeing around the vicinity after the same van picked us up to bring us to the airport for our 5pm flight to Manila.

Still out here celebrating

We are now on our last day of our 3n/4d Bohol-Cebu vacation.  Yesterday was our 30th wedding anniversary and we had the most excellent celebration so far! I will post all our escapades as soon as we get home. In the meantime, here’s one of the best activity we had yesterday, the peak day of our short vacation.

All in complete gear ready to experience the electrifying Skywalk.

Souvenir from Blogging

Last week, I withdrew my accumulated blog earnings from Paypal. It reached a certain amount enough for me to afford the pricey jewelry I’ve always dreamed of. It’s a set of south sea pearl earrings and pendant. I’m very pleased that I finally got what I want not using hubby’s money but my own. Likewise, I had bought hubby a high quality leather wallet from Marks and Spencer. It's my wedding anniversary gift for him. I hope he liked it. Yup, it was our 29th wedding anniversary last November 22. I was too tired to blog about it though. I will post the celebration we had, soon. Anyway, I still couldn’t believe that blogging could be this worthy.

And here’s the set of south sea pearls I've bought::

'Twas a Date!

  • The time is quarter to two in the morning, and it’s already the 23rd of November. We have just arrived from a Date. We had a great dinner on Italiannis and lively music on our fave Dungeon Bar at Camelot Hotel. Hubby dated me coz it’s our 28th wedding anniversary. Imagine?! We’ve come this far?! Again, my amazement on how quickly time flies! And my admiration to this very patient man for enduring those 28 sacrificing years with me… he he he!..

Happy Anniversary, Sweetheart! Luv yah!

Here's sharing some pics:
