Relaxing Sunday

Finally, I had the luxury of waking up a li’l late without being confronted by voluminous chores.   How wonderful to greet the day with everything in proper places and the whole house truly spic and span, so to say.  The “angel” is doing her job well.  I only hope she would stay long with us.

Very timely, my PIC (partner in crime, close friend) picked me up and we went to the mall. But before going there, we passed by on those gardens selling nice plants not too far away. I grabbed a plant or two while she picked a nice decorative flower pot.

Being a Sunday made it hard to find space to park at the mall.  But luckily, we found one after so many rounds.  Nonetheless, the parking space we got was right in front of Tong Yang and when it comes to Tong Yang, our eyes always meet.  Haha! Thus, we indulged again in another unplanned buffet pig-out.  Hmmn..

my dessert:  refreshing Halo-halo
And off for some grocery items after filling up.  Upon checking out, we were surprised with a new appalling City Rule wherein customers have to bring their own eco-bags or they have to pay Php2.00 for each plastic bag used.  It is said to promote eco-environmental awareness.  Huh?  Eco-environmental awareness but plastics are still allowed?  Can’t help but be irritated with the new regulation. Okay then,  "what if we don’t want to pay for plastic bags. How are we supposed to carry all these items?” I asked the cashier.  She offered the used boxes hidden beneath the counter.   We actually don’t like it but it’s a better choice than charging us Php2.00 for every plastic bag. Not that we're tight-fists, the new rule just isn’t fair!  On the hind sight, it is fine to promote Eco-awareness.  However, by the looks of it, this City Regulation has too many loopholes to patch up.  The burden is imposed on the buying public while business entities get to profit more.  I’ve heard from the news that there is postponement on a number of rules being implemented.  I hope the City Officials get to correct those irregularities.  Otherwise, their names most likely won't make it on the ballots come 2013 election.

Hah! You think I'm kinda veering away from my so called relaxing Sunday?   Well not really! Summing it up, it was still one relaxing day.  I guess, any day will always be great day when spent with my PIC! (Wink!)

Bored!

Yes, I was ... to the highest level !  So while the original driver of the car (hubby) was out on his regular weekend biking spree, I made a date with SIL and asked son to drive us to Ortigas.   SIL’s daughter and her own family are staying in a condo unit in one high rise building in that Pasig Business Center. They got a swimming pool on the roof deck which is the 39th floor and that was my target.  ‘Twas quite a long time since I last took a dip in a pool.  Finding a space to park in the area was tough so we decided to bring the car to the nearby Robinsons Galleria’s basement.  After which, we looked for some foodstuff.  It was already lunchtime and didn’t want to bother the couple for our meal.  We picked roasted chicken, grilled boneless bangus and green salad along with big sodas and packs of chips.  Glad that everyone enjoyed the simple lunch then no time was wasted and we headed to the roof top.  The pool was all ours except for one or two.  They didn’t stay long anyway so the place was enjoyed well.   Heavy rainfall and cold breeze didn’t stop me from enjoying the dip.  It even added more fun!  I wish I own the roof deck.  It mav only be a small one, but I love the pool.

I'm bored no longer. I hope you guys never were. Have a wonderful week!

Thanking God for a Restful Sunday!

... And a family dinner out made my day! 'Twas kinda complete day- off for me yesterday. I slept morning and afternoon while the big kiddos did most of the household chores. Actually, sleep for me is often too difficult to come by unless I take an anti-histamine pill with 100% drowsiness side effect or some vitamins that induce sleep. I try to evade the latter as much as possible cos it blows my appetite like that of anacondas’! Lol! Unfortunately, even with the huge appetite, I still don’t gain the needed few pounds of weight. I think it’s in my gene. I’ll be skinny all my life despite the a la construction worker passion for eating! Omg! .. so yesterday , I took that vitamin/appetite enhancer once again. Thus, the precious sound sleep I had and the rapid emergence of hunger I feel again today.

Now that I'm quite refreshed, I’m thinking of extending my day-off. He he.. I’ll make do with the doggie bag take out we had last night. Will manage with some light household works and that woud be it. I gotta enjoy a relaxing day with my lappy then off to my lab test results come late afternoon. Probably, it would only be then that nail-biting moment will set in. Wish me luck that each lab exams turns out good/normal as usual!

Wishing everyone a fantastic brand new week! Take care!

Need to relax

Despite feeling unwell yesterday, I managed to sneak out of the house and leave the mountain high wash clothes in the bin right beside the washer and the towering high folded clothes for ironing. Nonetheless, these stuff never cease to exist so I decided to leave them behind for a while and sought some breathing space for myself. My friend and I took off for our favorite “eat all you can” lunch in our favorite resto then hopped in to another mall and did some shopping including shoes. It so happened that we both like the same style, thus our shoes became twins. We’re both happy for our cute catch and it obviously brings cheers to our weary soul. Well, that’s how shallow we are! Ha ha ha.. A cup of tasty yogurt and chewy pastries added a bit of bliss too while resting our tired feet. Nothing’s like a pleasant day with a friend you’re very comfortable with.

Now, I’m back here in my usual post, facing the music… the never ending pots and pans on the stove and kitchen sink, soiled clothes waiting by the washer, folded clean clothes sitting by the ironing board, floors needing to be mopped, and a lot more things that often times keep my hair stand straight like pins on my head! And oh, I must not forget, there are the annual lab exam results I have yet to pick from the hospital and bring to my doctor. Anxieties get into my veins as I think about them. My, oh my!

I need to breathe deeply now! See you again buddies!

Thinking of ways to chill out

What can be most relaxing to a stay at home mom than go out of the house and leave the pots and pans behind. No one would argue about an overly worked mom needing rest too, I supposed! As most of you know, I've been drowned in the sea of a construction mess and couldn't lift myself out. I was literally catching my breath to keep up with the piles of work. Thus, when my "partner in crime" (my friend Lyn) called up the other day to have a dinner out, I didn't think twice. We dined together in a popular Chinese Resto and talked about getting our own ways of chilling out. I suggest going out of town in a place in far north or distant south. She likes the idea but for the meantime, she prefers to try out and experience playing games in a casino for fun. I have gone to an actual casino myself but I guess, the current popularity of online casino is far better than the actual one. I hate the crowded and smoky place not considering the inconvenience of traversing the heavy traffic jammed roads leading to the casino. Hence, when I brought up the idea of playing casino online she readily agreed. Not bad she said, cos she can enjoy the fun anytime she wants it.

And for the time being, we have thought of going out of town somewhere in the north. I just have to smoothen out some tasks and obligations that would be left behind. It is a nice feeling to breath in some fresh air and smell some flowers out of the four corners of your chaotic confines. And how glad I am to have "my partner in crime" to chill out with me!

Chill Out After a Hard Days Work

Taking time out from my endless household chores, I sat on a sofa, stretched out my legs and picked up the remote commander of our TV. I kept changing channels looking for my favorite program. But then, I got bored. Local channels have limited shows which made me wish I have one like Satellite Directv. I’ve heard of the Direct TV having lots of TV programs to choose from. And if on a limited budget, one can choose which channel is more important to have.

If only I could have one as that of a Direct TV Satellite, it would make my daily chores light and easy. And why not? I’d probably be motivated to work fast, finish my daily tasks, then chill out in front of a Satellite Directv. I guess that’s one factor of the joys of life, to chill out after a hard days work!
